DarkWyrm continued his path to a more accessible email and print preference user interface with many small modifications: Consistent capitalisation, font sensitivity, added accelerators, removed unnecessary buttons and menu items to name just a few changes. The applications should now more closely resemble the Haiku Interface Guidelines.

IntelExtreme, Radeon and Matrox graphics cards all received minor tweaks for IDs, modelines and configuration. The VESA driver now cooperates nicely with the app server using it's new 4-bit greyscale mode which should hopefully help any of the few with unsupported graphics cards.

Of course, we saw a large amount of network activity this period. A number of more enthusiastic types will be excited by addition of device monitors and a working port of tcpdump! Additionally the netstat command has been started and added to the disk image along with tcpdump.

Various common and uncommon archive formats now have mime-type configurations.

After a minor mistake the parallel window rendering is now enabled with some small but noticeable increases in performance. Work on the global font lock should hold the key to more future gains as mentioned previously. Somewhat related is the new 'false bold' feature of BFont which uses AGG to make the curves thicker or thinner.

The wonderful application 'wget' now forms part of the Haiku tree, though is as yet untested. The image resize functionality of Zeta's ShowImage implementation were integrated with Haiku's, although with an improved bilinear scaler.

Lastly we saw the introduction of DarkWyrm's services_daemon. A process dedicated to ensuring your most vital servers are kept running at all times, helpfully restarting those that have shutdown prematurely. A late addition in the period, we'll have to wait and see what becomes of it in the coming commits.
